Damian Clark

Multidisciplined artist (painter, illustrator, designer, maker, musician, music producer and composer).
Born 1968 and based in West Yorkshire, I specialise in creating contemporary landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes, portraiture and figurative oil paintings. My paintings are representational and often painted in series, or as part of a themed collection. I work in various opaque mediums and surfaces, though my preferred medium is oil on canvas, as this gives the greatest flexibly and richness of colour and quality of finish. Influences are many and varied, a few include Pissarro, Klimt, Grimshaw, Millais, and Waterhouse, and their processes and techniques have served as a fundamental teaching aid to my own learning.
I come from a line of artists, which has had a very strong influence during my formative years. For the most part I am a self taught, after learning the rudiments through formal education, much of my knowledge of painting comes through countless hours practice over the past thirty years and more.
