Madonna Phillips

I work with glass and mixed media. At present my art
explores connections between art, design and craft. My current work references science, architecture, nature, chaos and order. A background in stained glass lead to my original technique, featuring collages of found paper, shapes and images, hand cut strips of glass and sometimes shards of tempered glass. Materials have included film, crystals, and silver leaf. I am concerned with glass as a strong and fragile material and the
way we live inside of this material in modern structures.


I live and work in Asheville NC and Raleigh NC.

Stained Glass Association of America Apprenticeship.
Instructor: Master Glass Painter John Nussbaum including traditional cartoon making and classic painting and staining of glass to be fired.
