I was born in Narobi,Kenya of Sikh decent and had lived in many parts of the world before coming to London and finally Scotland. Having worked in fashion all my life I see my progression into art as a natural extension. I have been self taught (although art has always been my passion)and through attending classes. I enjoy still life trying to capture the light and the dark elements in the painting and attention to detail. Bold colours and strong narrative help me to create my work which shows how it can influence our life. As an artist I hope to take a journey of colour by building up layers to help create a mood in my painting. I continue to develop my style with the use of acrylic and oils. I am a member of the PAI, Glasgow Art Club and the Helensburgh Art Club where I was a president for about 12 years.
