Abigail Lutzen is a classically trained visual artist living and working on Gadigal land (Bronte)Australia.
Born in Uruguay 1974 migrating to Australia for the second time in 2003.
Abigail began her studies at 19, first at the UTU (Labour University of Uruguay) continuing her education at Bellas Artes, National Art School (University of the Republic) Montevideo, Uruguay. Through her work, Abigail seeks to tell stories about the world around her, with a particular interest
in advocating for social justice.
She has exhibited her work in Uruguay, Switzerland and Australia. Her preferred medium in painting is oil on canvas and the printmaking follows suit in its themed interpretations.
In 1997 start studies in Fine Arts at the School of Arts and Crafts Dr. Pedro Figari, at the Uruguayan university of work (UTU) under guidance of Professor Pedro Rodriguez. In 1998 was attending the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes (National College of Fine Arts), Universidad de la Republica, Uruguay. In 2001 studied under the direction of Professor Anhelo Hernandez. In 2011 acquired Diploma in Artistic Makeup at Academy Of Makeup, Sydney, Australia. In 2008 acquired Certificate “Emergent Curriculum, Embracing the Visual Arts” II and I. Learning Resource Centre of Australia. 2009 Course Certificate IV in Fine Arts TAFE with
