María Blanco

Each of my works is a collective self-portrait. The objects, animals, and phrases that appear speak about: the passage of time, present day pop culture and memories from childhood. The scribbled words invite you to delve deeper to your own nostalgia. Even though some images are youthful, they are faux naif paintings, playing with the duality of the world in which we live.


Like almost everyone, when I was little, I spent most of my time drawing, making figures, inventing and I haven't stopped since then.

I studied Fine Arts and earned a PhD in Applied Creativity.
I have a master's degree in Textile Design.
