I am a self-taught artist working primarily with painting. My work is figurative and narrative, often exploring human relationships, desire, vulnerability, loneliness, control and freedom.
I am drawn to images that suggest a story without explaining everything. A painting should leave something unresolved — a question, a tension, or a feeling that stays with the viewer. Some works are quiet and intimate, while others use satire, dark humour or absurdity to approach more uncomfortable subjects.
People are at the centre of much of my work, but I am less interested in portraying individuals than in what happens between them: attraction and distance, intimacy and isolation, strength and fragility. Even when a painting begins with a simple scene or idea, I want it to contain another layer beneath the surface.
I work mainly in acrylic and oil, allowing the painting to develop during the process rather than following a completely predetermined result.
I don't paint to explain the world. I paint to make it harder to ignore.
Self-taught artist. My artistic practice has developed independently through years of painting, experimentation and continuous exploration of different techniques and visual expressions.
