My work aims to convey the urgency of climate change by connecting people to the beauty of remote landscapes. On residency in north Iceland where few people are inhabitance due to the remoteness and the extreme climate conditions. Here, I have found great appreciation for the Arctic in its intense beauty, vast size, remoteness, and extreme weather. However, the Arctic ecosystem is under serious threat due global warming, commercial fishing and oil exploration.
Therefore, throughout my work, I hope to appeal to the emotions of people, in order to instil a sense of ownership and obligation to the Arctic. Thereby aiding the fight against global warming and hopefully begin to reverse the effects of the previous generation and prevent further damage.
