Drawing upon a visual lexicon of sharp black lines, block colours, vibrant geometric shapes and organic forms, Lili’s paintings are preoccupied with existential and social matters.
Her aim as an artist is to reset time and space and fuel a fresh breath in the viewer's mind. Doing so, she creates a field to re-think what it is to be a human being.
Her inspiration comes from urban design, architecture, mountainous and deserted landscapes. Her body of work draws and reflects on Geometric abstraction, Op-Art, Abstraction, Minimalism, Color Field and Hard Edge painting.
Lili Phelouzat was born in 1982 and grew up in the French region of Auvergne. After studying History of Art, she moved to London in 2002. Since 2009 Lili has been professionally exhibiting in the UK and France.
She co-founded, co-organised and curated Project 2012 exhibition during 2011/2012.
