I create contemplative objects that bridge ancient Japanese aesthetics and contemporary minimalism.
Working with ancient natural materials sourced in Japan, I curate collections that invite a slower, more attentive relationship with matter and time. Stones, shaped by wind, water, volcanic forces, and centuries of environmental change, carry quiet traces of endurance and transformation.
My practice is rooted in the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, which recognizes beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and restraint. Rather than decorative objects, my works exist as functional art—pieces meant to be held, arranged, and quietly contemplated.
Presentation is integral to the work. Collections are housed in traditional hinoki (Japanese cypress) boxes and wrapped in antique calligraphy paper, reflecting Japanese traditions of reverent containment and intentional display.
Through this practice, I explore how ancient materials and traditional aesthetics can exist within contemporary life—inviting reflection on slowness, attention, and the quiet beauty of time made visible.
