NAGA WARRIOR Painting

I feel that the world around is a cacophony of images, the good and the bad, the sweet and the ugly, all intermingled to create our visual plane. Art to me is a means to segregate this madness into clearer simpler visuals. I try to bring out the best in an image by focusing on those extraordinary elements that tend to get lost in the crowd. In simpler words, art to me is a means to highlight the best in the world. My work has often been described as an explosion of colors. The use of contrasting colors, juxtaposing the reds and blues, brings out conflicting elements of the subject with breathtaking ease. My watercolor, in contrast, have an extremely subtle and calming effect and its mainstay is the depth of emotions that the painting is able to convey. After a long love affair with bright colours, I have recently stumbled upon the thrill of working sans colours and hence my recent series of black and white oil paintings. I feel the two colours, black and white, perhaps convey more emotions than thousand different hues put together.
