Javier Cejalvo

Fco Javier Cejalvo Álvarez, nació en Cardenete, (Cuenca).

Artista autodidacta, ya en su juventud trazaba bocetos de esculturas como una simple forma más de expresión, sin conferirle en ese momento un valor más allá que el de mero pasatiempo, pero que más adelante, aprovechó para dotar de vida mediante su reproducción como esculturas, empleando eso sí, un material de gran significado para él, la madera. Esta representa, bien lo sabe, la manifestación en la materia de esas ideas que un día surgieron, otorgándole la posibilidad de palparlas y de ser modeladas con sus propias manos para reproducirlas, analogía que también traslada a sus obras a través de los propios troncos y maderos que un día llegaron a su fin y fueron rescatados para experimentar un nuevo resurgimiento, es decir, como base de la escultura que muestra y que fundamenta el título general de su obra, “Naturaleza viva”.
Aunque en algunos casos priorice la contemplación y en otras la funcionalidad de la obra, como al adaptar las esculturas a mobiliario interior en forma de mesas, lámparas o estanterías, siempre primara el trabajo y el esfuerzo realizados, momentos de inspiración donde en definitiva traza su arte, en el que prima, sea dicho, un profundo respeto por la naturaleza.
