Contact us.I do not call myself an artist, that is for others to decide. My purpose is to create work that evokes emotion, sparks imagination, encourages meaningful dialogue, and, above all, challenges people to see the world around them from a different perspective.
My name is Wayne Williams, and I am an emerging African American outsider art creator based in the Seattle area. I create work that reflects the complexities, contradictions, and beauty of the world we inhabit.
My practice often unfolds through bodies of work centered on a specific theme or concept. As I research and create, new questions and unexpected discoveries naturally emerge, leading me toward the next series. Each completed project leaves behind traces, happy accidents, experimental techniques, and new ideas that become the foundation for future work. This ongoing process of exploration is as important to me as the finished pieces themselves.
My work is often provocative and intentionally challenges assumptions. I believe art has the power to initiate conversations about difficult subjects, inviting reflection rather than providing easy answers. Ultimately, my goal is to create work that inspires discussion, deepens understanding, and encourages people to engage more thoughtfully with the world and with one another.
