Organic Tessellations. Continuing my studies on soap bubbles, I sought to flatten the space between them, making them almost two-dimensional. Through this process, I created a "Georgy Voronoi" tessellation which, in my view, possesses a strong geometric and emotional appeal. From this base, I integ...

Dionisio Dias Filho

About the Artist

Dionisio Dias Filho

Brazil

Dionisio Dias Filho is a Brazilian fine art photographer whose work lies at the intersection of rigorous technical mastery and raw material abstraction.

His journey began decades ago in the golden era of advertising photography, a time when formal photographic education in Brazil was still nascent. Seeking deep, practical knowledge, he trained under the mentorship of the renowned advertising photographer Ernest Schauder. Combining this intense studio apprenticeship with technical studies at SENAC, Dionisio quickly forged an independent career. He began capturing still-life subjects for major editorial magazines before cementing his reputation within top advertising agencies as a master of complex visual solutions, precision, and light manipulation.

Throughout his career as a commercial craftsman, Dionisio remained a relentless self-taught researcher, continuously studying and adapting to the evolution of the medium. His commercial discipline and deep understanding of physics, optics, and chemistry eventually paved the way for his true passion: experimental fine art photography.

Driven by a profound belief in the human capacity to dream, create, and absorb infinite new ways of seeing and being in the world, Dionisio focuses his artistic practice on capturing the invisible forces of nature. While currently exploring the limits of macro-scale phenomena within custom-built miniature chambers, his visual research remains fluid and open to ever-changing scales and mediums. By compressing fluids, light, and matter, he creates striking, symmetrical abstract landscapes—profound, contemplative portals that invite the viewer to explore new dimensions of perception.
