Born in Cairo in 2000, Miray is a self-taught Egyptian artist raised by the sea in Hurghada, with her artistic exploration expanding in 2024. She mainly uses collage and mixed media, drawn to their boundless possibilities for deconstruction and reconstruction. Inspired by the spirit of freedom, resistance, chaos, and the unseen, her work is primarily shaped by the questions, reflections, and challenges that occupy her, as well as her growing sense of identity and surroundings.
I approach art as a private—perhaps shared—sanctuary, where I connect with myself and with others on a deeply intimate level. I see art as the ultimate tool for reconfiguring the world, our surroundings, and the way we experience them. I believe that the true power of art lies in perception itself, and it has the ability to restore what the world, by its very nature, fails to offer.
