Marina Demaris

I am a visual artist whose creative journey has been shaped by transformation, resilience, and a constant desire for renewal. For many years, I worked with hot enamel on copper — a rare and demanding medium that profoundly influenced my perception of color, texture, light, and depth. When I moved to France and no longer had access to the specialized equipment required for this practice, a new chapter of my artistic life began, leading me to devote myself fully to painting on canvas.

Today, my work explores the dialogue between graphic structure and tactile texture, abstraction and recognizable form, vibrant color and deep shadow. I am fascinated by contrasts and by the delicate balance between spontaneity and intention — a creative tension that often feels like walking a tightrope between instinct and control. Through layered surfaces, relief elements, expressive brushwork, pastels, and bold black lines, I seek to convey emotion, inner landscapes, and the quiet narratives that emerge from intuition.

• From 2005 to 2008, Marina studied the hot enamel technique in the studios of Nikolai Vdovkin and Olga Polshina.

• From 2000 to 2005, Marina studied at the Higher School of Design at the Academy of Architecture, specializing in Design.

• From 1995 to 2000, Marina attended the College of Art and Industry, specializing as a Master of Artistic Painting, and graduated with honors.

• From 1994 to 1995, Marina studied in the studio of artist Vitaly Nepogodin.
