Viktor Chernysh

My name is Viktor Chernysh, I am 34 years old. I live in Ukraine, in the city of Kyiv — at the heart of a country that is currently going through difficult times due to the war.

I am a beginning artist, and the works presented here are my first paintings. I have no formal art education; I did not follow academic rules or study in workshops. I paint intuitively — guided by feeling rather than theory.

Painting is a way for me to pause, listen to myself, and escape — even briefly — from anxiety, constant news, and the problems of the world. I pick up the brush when inspiration and the right inner state appear. Each piece is a moment of silence, emotion, and personal experience, captured on canvas.

My paintings are not about perfection, but about sincerity. I hope they convey a sense of mood, warmth, and that short feeling of calm which they also give to me.
