First, I spontaneously apply structural modeling paste with palette knives to create texture and relief. Then I transpose the colors, shadows, and light of the subject using metallic inks and acrylics.

I have been drawing since I was very young. Throughout my career as an illustrator and graphic designer, I have worked with all kinds of media. Since 2009, I have been using this technique, which I call Relief Art, on canvas. Metallic, iridescent, and pearlescent colors make it possible to simulate the effect of light reflecting off vegetation, while the modeling paste adds depth and texture, making my work appear more realistic. My works are engraved with my initials JP in the modelingpaste.
I have been working in the field of visual arts for 35 years already.

My passion, horticulture, which is the main inspiration for my works, led me to obtain a Certificate in Horticulture from Université Laval, earned in 2018

I dedicate myself exclusively to my relief art technique.

-The artist residency I participated from November 3 to 7, 2025. I had the privilege of meeting wonderful human beings, exchanging and learning, laughing, and taking a moment to develop my work!!! In the company of 4 other women artists, each with a different discipline! Once again, a huge thank you ❤️ for this incredibly enriching and creatively motivating experience to the City of Notre-Dame-des-Prairies. We worked on the stage at the Carrefour culturel. I had to create something that was inspired by the work of the main artist,the place, or the people around me!!
