Jaime Lovejoy

My work explores the intersection of environment and emotion. The impulse and sensation that erupts in reaction to a place, sound or touch. Anchored in a state of meditation, echoes of nostalgia, self-reflection, and aspiration transition into clear colors and shapes - setting the framework for my abstract paintings. Heavily watered down acrylics are poured across the canvas in thin veiled layers, manipulated by tilts, turns and gestural movement. Fluid with motion, each stroke and pour builds upon itself to create an ever-evolving narrative throughout the process.

The paintings are meant to bridge a shared perspective with the viewer, pulling on their own raw emotions and memories in reaction to the rhythmic movement, organic lines and muted color palette.
