Caravan Obscura, is a project of artists who have chosen to live in rural environment.
We are each in our own way sensitive to the perception of our environment, to the connections that unfold between our body and spaces in which we operate, in all shades, colors, palettes that these surveyed spaces offer us every day. Our environment is very present in our reality as in our artists imaginary. It is our living space but we also apprehend it as an extension of our workshop, where our reflections and achievements flourish. We try to observe and explore the daily life of this territory as if we are discovering it. To live in, it is to travel on the spot, losing our bearings, we observe the place with a fresh look. Our respective works present visual and perception phenomena which are part of a very specific light, a landscape, a particular nature.
We are looking for flaws in the real that allow us to access an intermediate space, between the unknown and the hospitable. We have been experiencing pinhole shooting since 2017, in small and large format thanks to a caravan and food boxes transformed into camera obscura.

Christelle Fillod (1974) studied in the School of Fine Arts in Lyon, before joining the two years art program of Le Fresnoy in Tourcoing.
Janice Wimmer (1972) studied in the School of Fine Arts in Dijon.
In addition, the two hold a cinema projectionist diploma.

Caravane obscure’s art work been shown in art space and museum, among other, in Musée de l’Abbaye de Saint Claude (France) as well as in site specific exhibition.
