Amira Radhi is a Bahraini female artist who works and lives in Doha, Qatar. Since 2012, Amira worked as a freelance photographer with Doha Film Institute, Qatar Museums, Khaleejesque magazine, and other media channels. She participated in many group photography exhibitions, locally and internationally. Her first art exhibition was Creation generation as part of Richard Serra’s exhibition in Qatar, 2014. Her creative photography and art have been written about in all Qatari newspapers and magazines, Gulf Times and more. In her path to find a cure for her wounded spirit, her artworks are signs that guide me. Amira is trying to describe the pain of being alienated and discriminated against in a group or a place. Sometimes she struggles in understanding herself verbally or visually, so she finds answers in the reactions of her audience. Otherwise, Amira creates social dialogues and persuasive arguments to understand what happened to her away from home. Amira projects her feelings and dreams on the surrounding nature and still-lifes, transforming them into living entities. The camera is the sixth sense which genuinely spreads her thoughts, even when she denies it. During this journey, Radhi believes that she can elicit a memory or a person in the viewer’s mind. Most importantly, though, knowing the real story behind one of the artworks is her least concern because, sometimes, it is just in her head.
