ALL ARTWORK READY TO HANG. I have painted since childhood, when I did not know what an artist was. Even now I am still defining myself as an artist. I have lived in Chicago, DC, New York and Maine, and currently live and work in Boston. I paint from life, in the landscape, before a still life or with a model. The paint is important. I want it evident in the work, not polished over. Brushstrokes and drips tell the story of the making. My work is about looking, not seeing. Looking is making choices, being deliberate. I want to compel you to look at my paintings, not merely to see them. I paint what it is like to look, not what a thing looks like.
