The constant theme running through my work is 'Adaptability'. My work is a personal expression and commentary of my own experience with place, wellbeing, culture and religion. I use the language of art to explore and reflect upon my own journey of adapting to change; these include the change in health, my personal encounters with different environments and belief systems. My technique involves a methodical process such as critical thought, expression of the observed and the continuity of refinement. It is important for me to allow my inner-child the freedom to participate in the art making process, as I strive to free myself from the aesthetics of figurative, representational, visual language by wrestling with the purity and formation found in material and experimentation.
