Corinna Heusel is a German designer working at the intersection of graphic design, architecture and sensory perception.
Her large-scale original works are conceived not simply as images on a wall, but as perceptual surfaces that become part of the architecture and shape the experience of a space.
Working with traditional Sumi ink, natural pigments and raw materials, she explores variation, repetition and irregularity. Materials flow, overlap and leave traces; their inherent logic becomes part of the graphic composition. The resulting surfaces are quiet yet complex, combining unity with diversity.
Her ongoing study of tropical architecture informs this approach. She is particularly interested in how visual design can soften the perceived boundaries between nature and built space, bringing some of the sensory richness of the living world into the interior.
Her work translates these observations into graphic works at an architectural scale, rooted in the materials and principles of nature.
