Graham Barker-Daniels

My art practice has been developed over the last 25 years.

I have always drawn inspiration from the discrepancies we can often find in our modern world, which between 2005 to 2020, was channelled into photographic projects – using digital, analogue and self-made pinhole cameras. This cumulated in my participation in London’s PhotoMonth in 2012 and 2013, and a collaborative month-long exhibition in 2014 with Platform-7 in the heart of the financial district of London. Here I featured in their 'Waste-Agency' project.

Since 2021, I have been pulled to painting and drawing as an additional and alternative medium.

In terms of subject matter, I am always looking for the flipside of our perceived reality, whether that’s challenging the views offered by the existing societal apparatus, questioning our role and responsibility as guardians of the natural world or challenging common perceptions and understanding of aesthetics, value and ethics.
