Kamil Woj

Kamil Woj is an award-winning artist working primarily in oils. His practice is centred on the "alla prima" technique, capturing the raw energy and immediate light of a subject in a single session. Much of his work is created en plein air, focusing on the British landscape and the dynamic character of wildlife. His masterful ability to capture the authentic atmosphere of a place has been recognized with multiple accolades, including winning first prize at the Wokingham Plein Air and the prestigious "Rocco's Sense of Location" award.

This visceral style is deeply rooted in his background as a professional guitarist, which included performing with rock legend Pete Way (UFO). He approaches a blank canvas with the same rhythmic vitality and "no second takes" intensity he once brought to the stage. Whether painting a portrait or a sunlit landscape, Kamil attacks the surface with a direct, wet-on-wet energy to preserve the honesty of the moment.
