Beth Ortman

I am a Los Angeles based artist that thrives in nature. I am inspired by my surroundings whether it be on the beach or hiking in the woods. I love the process of disappearing into the making of paintings and drawings inspired by experiencing nature. Nature is a constant reminder to remain in flux and keep moving in the world.

My goal for this work is to create a sense of peacefulness and calm that I find in my personal journey and make it universal. I am looking to approach a meditative silence in these drawings and paintings. I believe in the ability for art to promote compassion.
