the story of madami


once upon a time...

...there was a little boy who realised he was tired of being an adult. his name is madami and i met him a few years ago with the feeling that we had met before.

he was a bit tired of working and with a certain sadness on his face. maybe that sadness was a consequence of seeing that most people were not enjoying life as much as they should, including me. i was born in Portugal and have always tried to follow my own path. it took me to quit university in Lisbon to go and study in London, and then to live in Brazil for just over a year. after coming back to Portugal, it was time to start working. although I was having fun working in advertising and media and increasingly enjoying creative work i was also feeling a lack of creative freedom as my interest in art and photography was growing everyday.

at first i tried to take art as a hobby in my free hours but madami was not really satisfied with that insufficient time and not a full heart, mind and soul dedication to what he wanted to create. he kept trying to convince me that i had to dedicate myself exclusively to art and that i should quit my job. at any moment in time it was a crazy and absurd idea but this was happening most i...
