The abstraction of the composition, the overlapping and layering of the shapes, evoked emotions that I could not help but leave a lasting record of what I felt at the moment I saw it and convey that feeling to the viewer of this photograph. Ilia Uzunoski is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice moves quietly between photography, painting, and sculpture. Born in Macedonia and now based in Australia, he studied photography at the Sydney Institute of Technology before completing postgraduate studies in fine art at COFA – University of New South Wales. His lens finds poetry in stillness — the geometry of an ocean pool, the curve of a flower stem, the silence between light and shadow. Each image becomes a meditation on form and transience, offering moments of quiet in a world of noise. Uzunoski’s work has been exhibited in Australia and abroad, recognized with several awards, and continues to evolve through series that trace the edge between structure and softness, presence and passing.
