Theofani Pitsiavas

Theofani is a wood/metal artist and furniture maker based in Nova Scotia, with 15 years of experience in custom furniture design. Specializing in using reclaimed wood and found metal objects, Theofani crafts functional art sculptures that blend fine craftsmanship with artistic expression. His woodworking “laboratory”, perched on a hill overlooking Portuguese Cove, is a constant source of inspiration for his creations.
A trained cabinetmaker and finish carpenter with decades of experience, Theofani also has a rich background in theatre, having been an accomplished performer and creator for over 30 years. This diverse artistic background shapes his approach to art, blending ideas from his theatre, playwriting and carpentry knowledge with his passion for sculpture and craftsmanship.
Theofani takes particular pleasure in working with "old" wood, often sourced from local renovations, some dating back 150 years. He views this reclaimed wood as a medium steeped in history, reshaping it into distinctive art pieces that breathe new life into its storied past.
