Lera Yestrel (b. 1995) is an oil and ink artist whose work explores the quiet tension between intimacy and distance, presence and detachment.
Her paintings focus on the female figure, drawing inspiration from women, everyday moments, and the subtle presence of love in daily life. These themes unfold through stylized, simplified forms that balance between fashion-influenced aesthetics and a more introspective, almost meditative stillness.
Elongated silhouettes, restrained palettes, and deliberate compositions create a sense of pause a moment suspended between movement and thought.
Working primarily with oil and ink, Yestrel is drawn to the contrast between softness and structure: fluid brushstrokes meet defined contours, while warm, muted tones are interrupted by precise accents of color. Her figures rarely engage directly with the viewer; instead, they exist within their own internal worlds, evoking a quiet emotional distance.
Rather than telling explicit stories, her work invites contemplation. It reflects on the body as both image and experience shaped by perception, memory, intimacy, and love.
Through this balance of minimalism and emotional depth, Yestrel creates paintings that feel both personal and universally resonant.
