Mark O'Donovan

Mark is an original; an innovator with a background in engineering and a soul in the arts. In his early career he founded the "Odd Enjinears" (misspelled engineers) who played the arts festival circuits in South Africa and in the Netherlands with site-specific shows (in old power stations or a blacksmith forge for example). He has invented many musical instruments. He has also designed and created many public sculptures and commissioned private works. Currently he has returned to painting and is loving it.

Mark has a BSc in Engineering and later studied for a BA Fine Arts through correspondence but did not complete the degree.

2019, 2018 and 2017 Marks landscape paintings have hung in various shows at the Grande Provence Gallery in Franschhoek, and at the Knysna Fine Art Gallery. Both galleries are owned by Trent Read (son of the famed Everard Read art dealer).
Prior to that Mark has had works selected for many group shows. He has not had a solo show yet.
