Diane Cox

Diane Cox (Coventry, United Kingdom) is an artist working with paint whose ideas merge perspectives of polarized emotion, Spiritual exploration and Shadow Work to create unexpected vision of an expansive mystical Universe, Suspended in time and space, her paintings represent dimensional gateways of mind state, the results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning shifts and potential interpretation becomes multifaceted.
In producing diversion, she creates intense personal moments by means of misrule, omissions, acknowledgement and the Unknown, enticing viewers to take a risk by going further and deeper for a new discovery and expression of an Unconscious aspect of Self.

.Her original inspirations are Mythology, Magic, Legend, fantasy artworks on the album covers of her youth, romanticism and dynamic contrast naturally led to appreciating the works of Waterhouse, Millais, Bouguereau, Blake, Fussli, Turner, Rubens and Caravaggio.

Diane is particularly interested in Ancient Civilisations and Symbolism, weaving her knowledge and experience of Mysticism within her works, she is a practising Astrologer, avid Stargazer, Moon bather and animal cuddler. Diane currently lives and works in Cape Town.
