Paul De Vos

I was born in Amsterdam and now live in the province of Brabant, Netherlands.
My father was a dedicated amateur photographer and I often stood next to him in the darkroom, watching the photos appear on the paper in the developing trays.

I also took up photography and in 2013 I decided that I wanted to take my photography to the next level. To that end, I enrolled in a course at the School for Photography in Breda (NL).
Since then, I have also been working as a freelance photographer.
My photography covers a wide range of subjects. I have not specialized in a particular area of photography, but I do have my preferences. My preference lies mainly in landscape photography. I also make documentary series, sometimes on commission, sometimes for myself.
Whatever I photograph, I rarely just take pictures at random. I usually come up with a subject in advance, along with a plan for how to execute it.

The thinking and preparation take a relatively long time, as does the post-processing.
I strive to take the photo in such a way that it does not need to be cropped. The photo you see is usually exactly as I intended it to be.
