Lauren Emes

Lauren is a professional Artist Illustrator who channels much of her creativity from the heart and gains inspiration from walking in beauty. Her intuitive artwork often explores those spiritual, otherworldly, non-ordinary realms. Lauren is currently writing and illustrating her first oracle deck of cards inspired by ‘Wolf’ ~ an exciting work-in-progress.

Having experimented with various media, Lauren tends to work mainly in paint, ink and silver, at the moment. She is inspired by human nature, emotion and spirituality in its broadest sense. Her keen interest in the processes of healing, well-being and shamanic journey-work seems to be influencing her art presently, as well as the rich and beautiful natural environment that surrounds her.

Lauren graduated with a BA Fine Art Degree from Nottingham Trent University in 2000, and has had various group and solo exhibitions in the UK and abroad ever since. Highlights of her artistic career so far have been the opportunity to create in a private studio for one month at Castillo de Santa Catalina back in 2006 (a converted 16th century fortress in Cadiz, Spain); soon after which, she spent several years making art and writing on the coast of Granada province from 2011- 2015. Lauren then fulfilled a long-held dream of having her very own Art of Lauren Studio in 2016, at the legendary Sloop Craft Market in the creative hub of St Ives, Cornwall (for six years). However, it eventually came time to expand in 2022, when she and her partner Graham Emes of Emes Guitars bought an old, quaint mining cottage in Illogan. They took a leap of faith and built a bigger custom workshop to share, known as "Hummingbird Studios" on the neighbouring farm behind their new cottage. A whole new chapter of creativity has begun...
