My role as an artist is: 'to push art beyond its boundaries.'

Regarded by some as one of the best abstract artists in the world today, Munro Wright began painting abstracts in 2016 having previously been a copyist rather than an artist. In that year, Munro Wright had a spiritual experience which made him realise that he was a mere graphic illustrator, not a creative artist. So he founded the 21st century art genre 'Abstract Spiritual Expressionism,' which is often referred to as 'Spiritual Expressionism.' This genre is probably the first new art movement of the 21st century, which seeks to portray the spiritual aspect of life through the medium of abstract paintings. By its very nature, the spiritual aspect of life cannot be adequately communicated visually in illustrative graphic art works. The ideal genre for 'Abstract Spiritual Expressionism' is abstract art work. This accords with and reflects the 21st century where traditional analogue ways of doing things and communicating have been replaced by innovative digital processes.

Quote: "The only thing that is certain in life is uncertainty."

After leaving school, Munro Wright undertook a five-year art and design course at Kidderminster College of Art in Worcestershire, England, UK. On graduation with qualifications in art and design, he joined a textile design studio where he worked for six years. Thereafter, he combined a career as a freelance textile designer with that of an artist, mainly painting marine subjects.

June 2023: a new gallery is now open at my home in New Milton, Hampshire, England, UK - called the 'New Forest Art Studio.'
Viewers and buyers are welcomed to come along and view my latest abstract paintings and also my range of less expensive fine art prints on deep-frame canvas.
