Marty Byrne Gascon - Bio Born in Dublin to a Spanish mother and Irish father Marty trained originally as a makeup artist and has spent the last 5 years working in Theatre, TV and Film including Penny Dreadful and the Vikings series. Having grown up surrounded by art, Marty's grandfather, father, uncle and sister are all artists, making her move into visual art was a natural progression. A lifelong interest in faces and the figure has been the driving force behind her work, which has been inspired by a range of artists and eras; colour, tone and shape define her work. Marty's collection of living paintings is a collection of portraits painted directly onto the models that pose for them. Using acrylic paints, the 3D subjects appear 2D. The process then involves a photographic process of the model, with the end photograph printed to canvas or board. .
