Current piece I'm working on. Nude in colored pencil on strathmore 400 series bristol 2ply vellum

Was told, by my grandmother, that I had the artist bug in me as a child. Some where along the line I lost it. Was never really into art while in school, didn't really pay much attention in art class (except to the cute girl that sat across from me in class). Spent most of my younger life playing sports, particularly football (was my life at the time). Graduated highschool in 1987, went into the Air Force in 1989 (still not into art), until 1992. Spent a year as a civilian, hated it then went back into the military, this time in the Army. From 94 to 01 was in the army, during that time I had become a fitness instructor and found my artistic niche. Being a fitness instructor helped me tremendously in my knowledge of anatomy.
I played around with the various mediums available and finally stayed with pastels and charcoal. I strive to achieve true realism in my portraiture and figurative work.
