Severien graduated with a BFA at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, Netherlands. Her art has been endorsed by royalty: former Queen Beatrix and the reigning King Willem-Alexander have selected her five times as a finalist for the prestigious Dutch Royal Award for Modern Painting. Her works have been exhibited at the Royal Palace Amsterdam, Art Museum in The Hague and several international art fairs. She was honoured with Grants from the Dutch Mondriaan Fund, and her work has been acquired by private collections, museums, corporate collections and hotels around the world.
