Michael Forgeard

My name is Michael Forgeard I am an artist residing in the beautiful countryside of Dorchester, Dorset in England.

I have been interested in painting and drawing from a young age. It was not until I was in my late 20's I decided some form of study in this field would be of benefit, I would enrol as a mature student at Weymouth college gaining my BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design. After this I went for my BA Hons Degree in Fine Art at Kent Institute of Art and Design in Canterbury, Kent. Whilst there I chose Sculpture as my specialised subject, wanting a challenge away from painting. I would make useless machines with no purpose for the 3 years. A record player powered by a lawn mower engine was one of my favourite and noisiest pieces. I was included in a few exhibitions whilst there and my mural art was included in the redevelopment of Margate in Kent.

I later moved to Wales where I continued to make Art, concentrating on painting. I have since moved back to my home town of Dorchester, Dorset.

Recently I have been working on portraits.
