Rick Hardcastle

Rick has been teaching art for 20 years. Classically taught, Rick has exhibited in the Mall Galleries 2012-13, Royal Academy of Arts 2010-2014.
He is an extremely accomplished all round artist, able to create abstract paintings like the Face in Space painting to more traditional portrait paintings and wildlife paintings as you can see on this page.
Currently exhibiting at Southlands, with the White Wolf and Red Deer paintings.
Building fine layers of paint, Rick is able to produce paintings of outstanding precision and control resulting in paintings of timeless beauty.
He has great versatility with use of medium from charcoal to pastel, oil and acrylic. He also has the artistic agility and technique to be able to paint portraits, wildlife, landscapes and abstracts.
Rick has had many commissions over the years whilst painting at shows and painting in Green Park ,London and Uxbridge.

Rick was taught by two professional artists, Sylvia Baxter and Max Kader.
Sylvia was a terrific artist who inspired many artists with her use of light and shade. She was great at knowing what to look for in a composition of a painting and finding focal points in that painting.

Max is a great portrait and animal artist. He is such a precision artist, who has great knowledge in all mediums and brush work as well as being a professional technical drawer.
The combination of knowledge from the two artists as well as a great deal of study and self teaching has resulted in Rick's art today.
