I am a Russian artist based in Sacramento, California. I was born in the Soviet Union, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and lived in Moscow, Russia until the political climate of the country became a Kafkaesque nightmare. My creative spirit was diminished during that time, but found new life in the United States. I draw upon the traditions of academic art and Impressionism, with a particular focus on the use of color. To me, the color theory is close to religion. My system is built on beauty of the relationship between warm and cold tones, on conflict of so called complementary colors. I wouldn't be able to convey pain and suffering, but rather a timeless atmosphere that a viewer can appreciate as a way of escape.
