M. McDermott, b. 1981 is an artist living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area. Unfortunately In his early twenties while working on his doctor of pharmacy degree he experienced several medical issues that forever altered his purpose in life. Instead of helping others he ended up navigating the world of for profit medicine as a patient and ultimately decided the ethics and practice did not fit into a healthy and fulfilling life. And yet while still struggling with his health he ended up finding purpose and meaning in the fine arts, original design stained and leaded glass windows and panels and custom woodworking. Prior to 2018 his work was available only through a commission basis and resides in private collections throughout the United States. In 2015 he was fortunate enough to gain a patron that funded the body of his work now available in his portfolio. Looking for the beauty in everything and trying to give it life so others may enjoy it as well is my way of staying sane and to give back to the community and hopefully enrich the lives of my neighbours friends and amazing people that helps support nuero divergent people and other often misunderstood creatives
