Sara Cancellieri was born in Benevento in 1976. She graduated from Cerreto Sannita Arts Institute majoring in Ceramic.
In 2002 she attained a degree in Sculpture from Florence Arts Academy.
A passionate artist since her younger age, she made Art become the core of her life while working steadily in her hometown.
She founded “La casa di Schiele” studio gallery where she teaches disciplines and methods.
In 2010 she was shortlisted for the Lissone award. She received the Critics Award at the Biennale in Salerno after contributing to several national galleries.
In 2007 the watercolor techniques became her main feature within the realm of figurative art.
Her coordinates always balance above presence and lightness.
All forms seem to be dressed in a sort of fluid suspension, whether they belong to humans or animals, as if they were icons from a fixed time.
The watercolor is an intimate and unpredictable technique where pigments interact vivaciously as they produce effects of transparancy, light tricks, and colors overlap, fade and expand.
The images bear the afflatus of the artist so allowing the spectator to establish a true contact with the creative moment.
