I’m a visual artist who doesn’t just draw what I see, I draw what I believe, what I’m wrestling with, and what I’m trying to understand about God and life.
Most times, my work feels like a conversation… sometimes calm, sometimes intense, sometimes me asking questions I don’t even have answers to yet. I like creating pieces that make people pause, think, and maybe even feel a little exposed in a good way.
I’m big on meaning, not just aesthetics. So even when it looks simple, there’s usually something deeper going on beneath the surface.
Also, I won’t lie, sometimes I start a piece thinking I know where it’s going, and halfway through, it humbles me completely 😅. But that’s part of it. Growth, discovery, and a lot of “God, what are You saying here?”
I’m trained as an architect, currently studying at the postgraduate level, and that has shaped the way I see and create art more than I even expected. Architecture taught me structure, balance, and how to think deeply about space, but somewhere along the line, I started translating all of that into visual storytelling.
So yeah, I can go from drafting clean construction drawings to creating expressive, meaning-filled artwork… sometimes in the same day.
My education didn’t just teach me how to design buildings it taught me how to observe, interpret, and communicate ideas. And now, I use that same mindset to create art that speaks, not just sits pretty.
I’ve participated in exhibitions organized by IFASA (Ife Architecture Students’ Association), including departmental art exhibitions where I had the opportunity to showcase my work alongside other creatives in architecture.
It’s always an interesting experience, seeing different styles, ideas, and expressions in one space. You leave inspired… and slightly challenged to go back and do better work 😅
