Johannes Nielsen

I am a Swedish sculptor working primarily in bronze, currently based in Beijing. My work centers on the human body — not as an ideal, but as a place of presence, vulnerability, and shared experience.

Through figurative sculpture, I explore themes of stillness, movement, inner life, and the quiet moments that connect us beyond language, culture, or identity. I am drawn to simple, honest forms where surface, weight, and balance carry as much meaning as gesture or expression.

My sculptures are created through a hands-on process that values tactility and time. Each work is an invitation to slow down — to sense the body not just as a physical form, but as a container of memory, emotion, and being.
