Daniel Deluna

Rochester, NY-based artist and educator whose practice inhabits the space between computational process and gestural mark-making — where algorithms become brushstrokes and code becomes pigment.

His work sits at the intersection of generative art, interactive audiovisual systems, and painting. The computer is as integral a tool as traditional brushes. When developing the paintings, DeLuna thinks in musical and temporal terms — rhythm, texture, timbre, the displaced fractured structure, and the layered paint implying the passage of time.

Associate Professor in the School of Design at Rochester Institute of Technology. His practice spans painting, drawing, generative systems, electronic music composition, and expressive instrument design.
