Trained in the plastic arts since 1985 at the Academy of Miguel Pérez Macías, Marco developed a strong foundation in drawing and painting, influenced by the Italian Renaissance and French Impressionism. Over time, he incorporated ballpoint pen into his practice, refining a technique that blends precision, gesture, and expressive linework.

His body of work moves between two complementary languages: oil painting and ballpoint pen drawing, often enhanced with ink. The central themes—human connection, emotional depth, and urban presence—are approached with a quiet, structured, and introspective gaze.

Marco Ortolan is an Argentine Artist (Draftsman and Painter) whose work went through different languages ​​throughout time starting as an Impressionist Painter (the School that started him in Painting), followed by Hyperealism to finish today with a REALISTIC language in general but with plastic additions that give it a very personal imprint, consolidating today in free compositions where the human figure wrapped in the sea depths and Urbanism are presented as the protagonists, which does not prevent it from entering other themes as The Artist (as Painter) must be Universal (thus confirming the thought of Leonardo Da Vinci in his treatise on Painting.) Regarding his Technique, today it is presented loosely, with plasticity and an Impressionist tendency with mannerisms that emerge throughout the process in each composition, such as scraping with spatula and scratching that allow the tone of the support to participate.These are made of wood or canvas depending on the size of the work.
