Ulrike Rainer - Atelier Wonnereich

Ulrike Rainer, founder of Atelier Wonnereich in Vienna, creates contemporary icons that unite tradition and modernity. Working mainly in the Styrian Alps, she paints with 23-carat gold or handcrafted red document ink on handmade paper, mounted on rust-treated iron plates. Her art explores the dialogue between matter and spirit — subtle, radiant, timeless. Inspired by scripture, Austrian modernism, and the quiet intensity of Christian Saints, her works bring contemplation and light into modern spaces.
