Sinikka Elfving

I was born in Finland close to arctic circle. I spent my childhood in an environment of a climate with cold, dark and long winters and short summers with bright nights. We call that phenomena " the sommer of nightless nights". I always had a close connection with the nature. This is visible in my art as I express myself trough flowers, birds, butterflies, trees, fields, waters, sun and moon, rainbows, stars and colors of the seasons.

Before I became artist I studied Psychology and Philosophy and graduated from the University of Salzburg, Austria. My education and the professional experience as Psychologist has an influence on my art as well. I see the human being as a part of the nature and the whole creation as such. We don't live alone separated from the entire Universe and we become reflections of our environments and the people within.
The most powerful words in the whole Universe are the the words of our own. We learn to judge, hate and despise ourselves and the fellow human beings during a life time. In order to reach a turning point in our spiritual evolution we need to listen to the wisdom of universal love that is peaceful and has healing powers.
