“ART THAT HALTS YOU IS ART THAT MOVES YOU”

This is my personal maxim. As we walk around an art exhibit, we often stop to view a work that catches our eye. An emotion is evoked in us by that work. This is what I hope to bring forth with my paintings. Contemporary abstract art has the ability to capture various emotions and evoke differing viewpoints. I work with the hope of eliciting that, as I apply my colors and organize my compositions.

I have served as a maritime captain, commanding a research vessel for several years. That experience added exciting dimensions to my paintings, as I saw my work take a pivot into different styles. I have been painting with oils for over 30 years, and new experiences and life challenges often directly influence my work, bringing newness and exploration. I hope my art finds your eye, and brings you the joy of discovery.
